Forest Hill is one of Toronto’s most prestigious and affluent neighbourhoods, rivalling Rosedale and the Bridle Path. The neighbourhood is also home to top public schools and two of the country's most prestigious private schools: Upper Canada College and Bishop Strachan School.
What it's like
The area’s original building codes and bylaws mandated that houses be designed by an architect and include a tree at the front of each property. Today, the original stately homes are extensively renovated and sit side-by-side with the best of contemporary luxury design, and the neighbourhood features stunning landscaping on generous lots.
The Neighbourhood
The area is popular with families due to the great schools, as well as retirees who enjoy a small town feel in the midst of the city.
The original Forest Hill Village at Lonsdale and Spadina features upscale boutiques and restaurants while retaining the charm of the original village. The area also features a number of other shopping and dining districts, including St. Clair Avenue and Bathurst, and Eglinton and Bathurst.
